SEO checklist
The checklist we use to review a website
Ten sections and more than eighty actionable points for reviewing your site, from the technical foundation to readiness for AI search. Tick each point as you check it: your progress is saved only in your browser.
How to use this checklist
Open your site, Google Search Console and, if you can, a crawler such as Screaming Frog. Work through the sections in order: the first ones (technical and indexing) affect all the others, so there's no point optimising content Google can't index. Not every point applies to every site; if one doesn't affect you (the international section on a single-language site, for example), tick it and move on. If a term is unfamiliar, look it up in the glossary.
A checklist helps you find problems, not prioritise them. When you've finished, rank what you've found by business impact and effort. If you'd like us to do that for your specific site, that's exactly what an SEO audit includes.
1. Technical foundation
2. Crawling and indexing
3. On-page SEO
4. Content
5. E-E-A-T and trust
6. Local SEO
7. International SEO
8. AI search readiness
9. Analytics and measurement
10. Links and authority
Next step
You've found problems. Now what?
It's normal to finish the checklist with a long list of open points. Don't try to fix everything at once. Start with whatever blocks indexing and measurement, move on to the pages that generate the most business and leave the details for later.
If you'd like an outside view, an audit turns this list into a plan prioritised by impact and effort, with owners and a timeline.
