01
Working with us
What kind of companies are your ideal clients?
Companies selling a product or service with real search demand that want to treat the organic channel as a medium-term investment: SMEs, professional services firms, ambitious local businesses, online shops, SaaS companies and international companies operating in Spain. Size matters less than whether the project makes sense for both sides.
Do you only work in Marbella or on the Costa del Sol?
No. We're based in Marbella, but we work remotely with companies across Spain and other European countries, in English and Spanish.
Who will be my point of contact?
You'll have a dedicated contact who knows your project, coordinates the work and keeps you informed. They won't change every month and you won't have to repeat the background to different people.
What do you need from me to get started?
Access to the tools (Search Console, Analytics, CMS and, where relevant, Google Business Profile or Google Ads), a point of contact at your company and some time at the start so we can understand your business. Details are in our methodology.
Can you work with my design agency or developer?
Yes, and it's very common. We send them clear technical specifications, review changes before release and validate them afterwards.

SEO basics
What is SEO and why does it still matter?
SEO is the set of practices that helps a website appear in search engines' unpaid results when someone looks for what you offer. It still matters because a large share of buying decisions start with a search, and because AI assistants rely on the content search engines crawl and index.
How long does SEO take to work?
It depends on your starting point and the competition. Critical technical fixes can show an effect within weeks; solid growth in organic traffic usually takes several months of consistent work. Be wary of anyone promising instant results.
Can you guarantee the top spot on Google?
No. Nobody can honestly guarantee rankings, because search algorithms aren't under any agency's control. We commit to a transparent plan, agreed metrics and a monthly progress report.
What's the difference between on-page, off-page and technical SEO?
Technical SEO ensures the site can be crawled, rendered and indexed. On-page SEO optimises each page's content and elements. Off-page SEO works on external signals such as links, mentions and reviews. The three layers depend on each other; you can look up the terms in the glossary.
Is it better to build a new site or improve the current one?
It's usually better to improve the current one if it has history and links, because a badly migrated new site can lose much of its visibility. If a change is unavoidable, it should be planned as an SEO migration.
03
AI search (GEO and AEO)
What is GEO, or SEO for AI?
It's the set of practices that helps your brand and content get cited in the answers of assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity or Google's AI Overviews. It builds on classic SEO and adds content structured for easy extraction, entity signals, structured data and citation tracking. More under Generative Engine Optimization.
How do GEO and AEO differ?
They overlap a great deal. AEO focuses on being the direct answer to a question (featured snippets, voice assistants, AI Overviews); GEO covers visibility in generative engines more broadly, including comparisons and recommendations. In practice we work on them together.
Has AI killed SEO?
No. Assistants that consult the web retrieve information from indexed pages and weigh their authority. Without a sound SEO foundation it's very hard to appear in their answers. What changes is that visibility also has to be measured where there's no click.
Can presence in ChatGPT or AI Overviews be measured?
Yes, approximately. We work with a fixed set of questions that represent your business and periodically record whether your brand appears, how it's described and which sources are cited. Answers vary between sessions, so it's a sample-based measurement and we present it as such.
Should I block or allow AI crawlers?
It depends on your goals. Blocking assistants' search crawlers may stop them citing you; blocking training crawlers is a separate decision about how your content is used. We look at it with you and configure robots.txt accordingly.
Is an llms.txt file worth having?
It's a voluntary proposed standard and its use by the main AI systems hasn't been broadly confirmed. It takes little effort to implement, but it's no substitute for a crawlable site with clear, well-structured content.
04
Local SEO
What matters most for appearing on Google Maps?
A complete, verified Google Business Profile with the right category, genuine reviews that get replies, consistent name, address and phone details across the web, and useful location pages. The user's proximity also plays a part and can't be controlled.
Can I rank in towns where I don't have an office?
On the map it's difficult without a real physical location, and creating fake addresses breaches Google's guidelines. In organic results it's possible with area-specific service pages that offer useful local information rather than being simple duplicates.
How do I get more reviews without breaking the rules?
By asking real customers systematically after the service, providing a direct link and replying to every review, including negative ones. Reviews must not be bought, incentivised or filtered: it breaches Google's policies and European consumer law.
How does local SEO work for international customers?
In areas such as the Costa del Sol, many customers search in English or other languages. It pays to have pages in those languages with hreflang, describe the business clearly in the profile and collect reviews in several languages. We explain this in local SEO on the Costa del Sol.
05
Technical SEO
What are Core Web Vitals and how much do they matter?
They're three Google user experience metrics: LCP (loading, good at 2.5 s or less), INP (interactivity, good at 200 ms or less) and CLS (visual stability, good at 0.1 or less). They're part of the page experience signals; they won't make up for poor content, but a slow site loses visits and conversions. See Core Web Vitals explained.
My site is built with JavaScript. Is that a problem?
It can be. Google renders JavaScript, but with a delay and not always completely, and many AI crawlers don't execute it. If the main content only appears after JavaScript runs, server-side rendering or prerendering is worth considering.
Why isn't Google indexing some of my pages?
The most common causes are noindex tags, canonicals pointing to another URL, robots.txt blocks, duplicate or low-value content, or pages without internal links. Search Console's indexing report is the starting point for diagnosis.
How do I change domain or CMS without losing traffic?
With a complete URL inventory, a page-by-page 301 redirect map, preserved content and structured data, testing in a staging environment and intensive validation after launch. We walk through it in migrating a website without losing SEO.
Do I need a multilingual site with hreflang?
If you target users in several languages or countries, yes. Hreflang helps each user see the right version and stops versions competing with each other. It's easy to get wrong, so it's worth reviewing carefully. See multilingual SEO and hreflang.
06
Content and links
Do you use AI to write content?
We use AI tools to support research, structuring or review, but every piece is planned, written or edited by a person with judgement and draws on your company's real expertise. Publishing unreviewed auto-generated content is a risk to quality and reputation.
How many articles should we publish each month?
There's no right number. It matters more that each piece meets a real intent and is the best answer available than how many you publish. Often, updating and improving existing content does more than publishing new content.
What is E-E-A-T and how do I work on it?
It stands for experience, expertise, authoritativeness and trust, concepts Google uses to assess quality. You demonstrate it with named, qualified authors, first-hand experience, cited sources, transparent company information and external reputation. See our E-E-A-T guide.
Do you buy links?
No. Buying links to manipulate rankings breaches Google's guidelines and can lead to manual actions. We earn mentions and links with content worth citing, original data and relationships with relevant media in your sector.
How many links do I need to rank?
There's no set number. A handful of relevant links from publications in your sector is worth more than hundreds of low-quality ones. We analyse the profiles of the competitors holding the positions you're aiming for to set realistic goals.
07
Advertising and analytics
Which suits me better, SEO or Google Ads?
It depends on your timelines, margins and competition. Google Ads brings visits from day one but stops when you stop paying; SEO takes longer but builds an asset. Many companies combine both. We look at this in SEO or Google Ads?.
Is the Google Ads budget included in your fees?
No. Advertising spend is paid directly to the platform from your company's account and is separate from our management fees.
What is Consent Mode v2 and does it affect me?
It's Google's mechanism for adjusting Analytics and Ads tags to the user's cookie consent. If you run Google Ads with users in the European Economic Area, it affects you. See GA4 and Consent Mode v2.
How do I know whether SEO is bringing me customers?
By setting up conversion tracking properly in GA4 (forms, calls, bookings, purchases) and analysing it by channel. Our reports always open with those results, and we point out measurement limitations where they exist.
08
Quotes and contracts
How much does it cost to work with you?
It depends on the scope, the size of the site, the number of markets and languages and the competitiveness of the sector. After a conversation and a preliminary review we send a written proposal with fixed fees. The usual formats are on our engagement models page.
Is there a minimum term?
Audits and projects end on delivery. For ongoing services, the duration and notice period are agreed in writing in the contract before we start.
What happens to my accounts and content if we stop working together?
They remain yours. Everything is created in or transferred to your company's name from day one, and when we finish we remove our access.
How do I get started?
The simplest way is to request an audit or write to us about your situation. We reply within 1–2 working days.
